The short version: SitTall does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Your posture data never leaves your Mac. No account is required. No analytics are used.
What data does SitTall collect?
None. SitTall does not collect any personal data, usage data, or analytics of any kind.
The motion data from your AirPods is processed entirely in memory on your Mac and is never written to disk, sent to any server, or shared with any third party — including us.
Camera and microphone access
SitTall does not request, access, or use your camera or microphone at any time. Posture detection is performed exclusively using the 6-axis head motion sensors built into your AirPods.
Network access
SitTall does not make any network requests. It runs entirely offline. There are no servers, no APIs, and no cloud services involved in its operation.
SitTall runs in the macOS App Sandbox with minimal entitlements. It cannot access the internet even if it wanted to.
Local notifications
SitTall may send local notifications to remind you to sit up. These notifications are generated entirely on your device by macOS. No notification content is sent to or processed by any external service.
Optional diagnostics
SitTall includes an optional, opt-in local diagnostics counter. If enabled, it counts events such as launches and notifications sent — as anonymous numbers stored only on your Mac. These counters:
- Are never transmitted anywhere
- Contain no personal information
- Are disabled by default
- Can be cleared or disabled at any time in Settings
App Sandbox
SitTall runs inside the macOS App Sandbox. This means it operates with the minimum permissions required to function and cannot access files outside its own container, cannot access network resources, and cannot interact with other applications without explicit permission.
Third-party services
SitTall uses no third-party SDKs, analytics services, crash reporting tools, advertising networks, or tracking frameworks of any kind.
Children's privacy
SitTall does not collect data from anyone, including children. There is no age restriction on use.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update the date above and note the changes in the app's release notes. Given the nature of the app, meaningful changes to data practices are unlikely.
